Body twitches related to Zoloft?

Body twitches related to Zoloft?

I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder when I was 13, I am now 21.  To treat the depression I was put on Zoloft for about a year or so.  I had terrible side effects and was off the medication for about 3 years.  When I was about 15 I overdosed on Zoloft about 2-3 times.

I began taking it again when I was 18, only to experience the same terrible side effects.  The doctor put me on prozac and I've been on that since I was 20.  I am not taking any medications now (and my symptoms are so mild I feel great).

My question is about my current physical state.  I have constant twitches in my hands, feet, arms, legs, and face.  I read that Zoloft can cause permanent body twitches and I am concerned that I am experiencing this.  Is there a definate way of knowing that I am experiencing twitches because of zoloft?

Thank you for your advice.

There is not any specific test to make that determination, but if you have been off for a year, it is extremely unlikely that zoloft is causing that, as it is not at all established that zoloft causes long term damage like twitches.

I too have had minor , painless, muscle twitches while being on Zoloft.  I've been off the Zoloft for one week and the muscle twitches continue.
