Breathing is rapid when awakening in morning

Several months ago, I started waking up early in the morning withy symptoms of very rapid breathing, muscle ache in left leg, profuse body sweating during day in stressful situations.

After several months of Zoloft, muscle ache in leg is gone, sweating has almost gone away, but still have rapid breathing when awakening, just not as fast.  When getting out of bed, breathing resumes to normal pace.

Question: after negative chest x-ray, heart check-up ok, blood work normal, could the rapid breathing be a lingering effect of anxiety?  What is happening during sleep that could cause this?  Additional note that Zoloft has given me side affect of almost routine awakening at 3 in the morning non-stop.

Anyone with similar symptom, feel free to respond also.

Thanks

Yes, it is most likely that the anxiety is causing a rapid heart beat in morning because during sleep you can't bring your conscious attention to the issues left over from the day before.

The best way to deal with this is to help your zoloft work by working on issues and stresses that are giving you problems in a very conscious and deliberate way....attack the sources of anxiety as well as the symptoms while you are awake, and you will sleep better.

I had high blood pressure and have been taking medicines. Recently, I felt heartache when I wake up in the morning while I am still lying in the bed. This symptom seems to only occur when during the time I am waking up in the morning. What could have caused it?
