Can a BPD cause chid molestion

My ex-husband seems to fit all the symtoms (symptoms) of BPD,we had a very abusive marriage where he went in to fits of rage or anger easily had troublr holding a job and is always talking about suicide and has talk about things seeming unreal to him.  I tried to make our marriage work and supported him while he went through out patient menal health thearpy for trying to strangle me when I left him and filed for divorce but the same old patterns kept going on so I moved on and  got a divorce.  I have a daughter who looks exactly like me in every way including wearing glasses.  I found out about a month ago that while we were seperating and getting a divoce he sexually molested my daughter he states it was because she needed to be punished ajnd also states that while he remembers the molestion it is a dream, unreal like state could this be from having BPD?  To everyone wondering I am not trying to excuse his behavior just make sense of his insanity.  HE IS IN JAIL!!

Dear Cheryl

I am sorry to hear about your suffering and that of your daughter. I do not have enough information to help with the diagnosis of your ex-husband. Borderline personality disorder  patients may do impulsive and destructive acts. They also may have dissociative episodes, the feeling that things are unreal or in a dream. The diagnosis does not excuse his behavior or indicate insanity. I urge you to get counseling to your daughter.
