Can my wife switch from Celexa to Wellbutrin (generic bupropion)

Can my wife switch from Celexa to Wellbutrin (generic bupropion)

My wife takes Celexa for her depression and we have to pay $35.00 a month because our insurance considers it a non-preferred brand.  Would it be OK for her to switch to Wellbutrin (or better yet the generic bupropion) which will only cost us $5.00 a month through our insurance?  She does not take any other meds.  Also I am on Wellbutrin XL for depression,  which costs me $15.00 a month and I would also be interested in switching to bupropion.  The only other Rx I take is Nexium.

Thanks,
Otis

Buproprion is an effective antidepressant and there is no good reason not to take the generic.

She could try it. Sometimes though, if something is working, it is better not to mess with it. I have heard of people going off a medicine that is working, and when they go back on it, it won't work.
