Dear Mike

Catastrophic illness can be described as the sudden onset of a devastating illness. This illness can be life threatening or can change the life of a person forever. The illness is associated with a  poor prognosis. A person who is severely ill can be considered as catastrophically ill. I hope this information is useful to you.

Sincerely
HFHS-M.D
