Celexa Withdrawal

Celexa Withdrawal

I have taken Celexa XR 20mg for about 2 years. I followed my Doctor's instructions on weaning off this drug. A week after I stopped completely I started with the "dizzy, buzzing" sensations. It seems to get worse in the evening. I do not want to go back on at a small dose and wean some more. How long can I expect to feel this way? Will it go away completely? When I asked my Doctor she said that my withdrawal was not typical. She said when you quit cold turkey that is when you have the withdrawal that I have described. Is there anything non drug related that can speed up this process?

You should expect that that symptom will go away completely.  The problem is when, and that is hard to predict.  In general it should only last a few weeks, but sometimes that is up to six weeks. I don't know of anything that will make that happen any faster.
