Celexa withdrawl

My Dr prescribed me Celexa for Anxiety several years ago and now I'm off of them after tapering off the medication per my Dr. But the side effects are awful. I have been having shortness of breath and my heart has been skipping beats on a regular basis. Is this normal? Hot flashes have been a nightmare along with being short at times with my family. Which I have read is normal. Thanks for letting me know about the shortness of breath and heart beats.

Just to add, anxiety is a common withdrawal symptom as well.  There are many people who went on a med just for depression and developed anxiety during withdrawal, and vice versa.  Hopefully this will pass quickly, but it could be you needed a slower taper.

I would not expect shortness of breath as a withdrawal effect unless it represents anxiety that you are dealing with, and that might explain your being short with your family.  If it is anxiety, then staying on top of your life problems is the remedy, and you can go to my website..www.shrinkyourself.com for a free 3 day trial of a self help program that will help you.
