Celexa

I started seeing a new doctor and he weaned me off amitriptylin,which I was up to 75mg. for the last few years.And started me on Celexa 20mg..Since then I have been having stomach pain and nausea.I am also sweating much more than I use to,this has always been a problem for me.But now I noticed even my face is sweating.Also insomnia,I haven't slept much at all,or I go to sleep and am awake in 3-4 hours for the rest of the night.I have told him this but he has not paid much attention.My bowels are also changing from everyday to every other day,and when I do go it is almost diarrea (diarrhea).He has got rid of dry mouth but that's about it.I am also on Metoprolol 50mg.for blood pressure and Premarin 2.5.If these stomach pains are from the new meds(side effects) will they go away?Anything else you can tell me would be greatly appreciated.Thank you.

Celaxa's side effect profile include the symptoms that you experience. Usually, to avoid the side effects when the medication is introduced in your system, clinicians often start with half the recommended dose for at least a week, then increase it to regular dose.

Other clinicians start with a regular dose and when adverse symptoms are experienced, patients are re-assured that symptoms are expected to improve in 7-14 days.

When symptoms are not tolerated at all by patients, a change of medication is indicated.
