Could i be aspergers/schizoid/borderline? My doctor is rubbish

My question to you is that could I have more than just depression?
My doctor is rubbish and his answer to everything is just give me SSRIs but my symptoms include complete lack of emotions, if I react emotionally to something its because I do it to be socially acceptable, lack of interest in everything, I appear to have little/no empathy, I despise physical contact especially hugs, though I can just handle handshakes. I am not that bothered about sex, it

You sound very borderline pd.  You may also have other cluster B traits, like antisocial.  Maybe even some social anxiety.

Borderlines often stem from feelings of abandonment or abuse at a young age.  Emptiness, hollow, emotionless, faking personal relationships, manipulation, rapid mood swings, etc.  You've read about it. As a previous responder indicated, pain seeking may be an attempt to FEEL. Many borderlines have a history of self mutilation, arm-cutting, etc.  They also have a very high suicide Attempt rate & especially high suicide completion rate.

The problem is, as a personality problem, they can't be treated as easily as chemical imbalance.  Social anxiety may respond to SSRI's.  Some aspects of Borderline can be helped with mood stabilizers used to treat Bipolar disorder - lithium, lamictal, depakote, seroquel, etc.

The actually personality aspects are just something that developed due to your environment during your developmental years. You can't treat this with medication, only with psychotherapy. The fact that you are here looking for answers is a good sign that you can be receptive to therapy and may experience improvement in the future.  Take the next step.

Good luck with everything.

Hi

Borderline personalities are usually unable to determine their identity - they do not know who they are exactly, they may also dislike being alone. Alot of symptoms stem from the use of drugs, amphetamines can cause psychiod personality by messing up the chemical messengers in the brain. Drugs like ecstacy cause depression as they thin out the neurons that keep your mood at an equalibrium. Sometimes the symptoms you experience may be due to emotional states, sometimes life stress can cause these symptoms.

I can't make a diagnosis and don't even think they are useful in most cases.  It sounds to me as if the "crazy" self destructiveness is a desparate effort to feel something, anything, and break through the numbness and the wall of armor you have built around yourself.  The issues you need to work on are relationship, and a therapist counselor, even group therapist, would be much better than medicaiton alone, although medication can help.  You have to learn new ways of trusting. I assume you had a difficult family life and learned to protect yourself, but now you are overdoing it to your detriment.
