Depakote, Zoloft and memory

Hello,

Does Depakote or Zoloft usually cause memory or concentration problems? Would taking the two together have a combined effect
of causing more memory loss and concentration problems? Would higher doses affect memory and other cognitive functions more than lower doses? Would Lamictal be a better alternative to Depakote for someone with Bipolar I who is having memory and concentration problems when taking Depakote? Any input or insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Tercel

Neither of those medications are assosiated with memory or concentration problems but both of those medications, as you increase dosage, can have a sedative effect.  Increasing dosage of Depakote actually decrease the blood concentration of prozac, but may not for Zoloft.

I take Depakote primarly to control Pet mal seizures, I have been on the drug for 20 years. I feel as though my depression is largely due to 1500 mg of Depakote per day.  I tried to take Zoloft but when I went from 25 mg to 50 mg I ended up in the hospital with grand mal seizures, something I dont generly suffer from.
I feel the Depakote contributes to severe crying spells, short term memory problems, confusion, aggitation, and lack of concentration.
