Depression, anger, fear

Our daughter is 30 years old and is living with us.  She has a college degree.  She has never held a steady job.  She had been staying out late, sleeping most of the day.  She takes Prozac and Klonodil.  Sees a psychiatriast infrequently for med check.  We are asking her to leave our house and take care of herself.  We are giving her the car, cell phone, credit card, financing her trip out of town to start anew.  A friend of hers has agreed to put her up for two weeks.  We have continually offered counseling; she wont' go.  Blames everyone else for her situation.  Is a beautiful, smart, and loving woman when in a good mood. Otherwise, the opposite.  Are we doing the right thing?

Lois,

It must be frustrating trying to help your adult daughter who does not appear to take much responsibility for her own well-being. It is important to continue providing her with your love and support, while also setting firm and reasonable limits.
