Dream-like, confused state after drinking

I feel like I'm going completely insane....it's like I'm in a nightmare. I had a lot to drink Friday night at a party and now it's Tuesday. I felt okay the day after, small hangover, but every since then I feel like I'm dreaming. I'm very confused and beginning to wonder if I'm imagining things or hallucinating. All I remember drinking was jack daniels, beers, and some liquor....anyway, it seems like it's getting worse. I'm having trouble remembering some things and last night I went to see my ex girlfriend and the whole incident seemed completely surreal. Probably because I was nervous, it increased the effects I'm experiencing. It felt like I dreamed the entire thing and like I was tripping out the whole time. I couldnt understand half the stuff she was saying. Does anyone have any idea of what happened to me? I hope I didnt get brain damage....is that possible? I don't remember anyone slipping anything into my drinks. This is the first time I've gotten that drunk. All I can say is that I'm never drinking again after this. I'm drinking a lot of water and eating fruit hoping this will wear off. Thanks.

The most likely explanation is that you were feeling very anxious to begin with, drank that much to self medicate, and then the combination of on board anxiety and alcohol did its work, and you had a mild dissosicative reaction that should self correct.

Hello,

The effects I'm feeling werent that bad until Monday when I went to see my ex girlfriend at her house. The entire event seems unbelievably surreal that I can't distinguish it from reality or a dream. Because of this I'm beginning to wonder if I'm imagining things. Today I'm feeling a little bit more normal however I still feel a bit confused. My sense of smell of off, my sense of temperature is off, and I keep hearing sounds that may or may not exist. When I drive I feel extremely paranoid. How long do you think before this will self correct?

Also keep in mind that I havent had any alcohol since Friday night and I rarely drink. Could the alcohol still be in my system? I'm drinking as much water as possible right now. It's not Wednesday. My biggest fear is that I'm going crazy or schizophrenic since it still feels like I'm in a dream-state right now...
