Drug Abuse or Mental Health?

My girlfriend was on oxi for appx. 6 years with the last year being 80 ml. + 40 ml. 3 times a day. Due to a stroke she had 7 yrs ago. Which she says left her permanent nerve damage on he right side. After the Dr. would no longer fill her perscriptions she went into major withdrawls. She was oxi free for 14 months. I thought she was doing pretty good. She still had some pain but nothing like she thought she had while on oxi. About 2 months ago she began telling me that her pain was increaseing and spoke of new problems. Such as a rash kept reoccuring on her face, extreme sweating, weight gain, hands and feet swelling, hot flashes, as well as cold spells. etc. She went to her family dr. who refered her to a rumetaologist. I went with my friend to this drs. appointment. To which they ran blood test and x-rays. All test came back negative ( Lupus, rumeatoid arthritis, ms etc. ) and the dr. said there was nothing they could do for her.
My friend says she feels like people think this is all in her head. And that no one understands the pain she goes through. Her family dr. put her on loritab to which she takes 2 10mg's at a time, 3 times a day. Because she was taking more than perscribed her family dr. said no more. Please advice in what I can do for her. She says she does not know where to turn next and also informed me she was going to order loritab over the internet because she could not take the the pain and suffering. I care so much for my friend and believe she really feels this pain. But, at the same time I don't want to enaible her either.Could the rashes and sweats come from drug addiction. Thanks for listening! I'm running out of resourses to help her.

Your girlfriend would be much better off going to see a therapist at this time than ordering medications and prescribing for herself.  This needs to be sorted out carefully with a professional who can spend the necessary time with her.
