Effexor Withdrawal

How long can I expect the TERRIBLE effexor withdrawal symptoms to last? I took my last 1/4 tab of 37.5 mg of Effexor XR 8 days ago. I am having even functioning, worry about my job and my overall wellbeing.

It depends on how long you weaned yourself before this last dose. If you did it abruptly, you may have weeks to go. If slowly, then maybe not slowly enough...and  taking that lose dose every third day for two weeks may help the withdrawal.

This is a tough med to quit, and nobody can predict how long this will last, but it should go away.  The important thing is you know what the cause is, so just realize you're ill while your body readjusts to working without the med.  A book called the Anti-Depressant Solution by Joseph Glanville might help.
