Effoxor and Pregnancy

I'm 26 weeks pregnant and have never taken Effexor before.  My clinical psycologist (whom I see for depression) has suggested that my OB presccribe this for me.  From what I've read there is no straight answer as to yes or no about taking it, but can you give me advise. Is it safer in the last trimester?  What about nursing?  Should I try something else instead?  Should I wait?  I don't feel depressed in general, but my psychologist thinks I am somewhat.

You are right there is no yes or no answer about taking this medication at any point during pregnancy and I would strongly advise you to avoid it if possible.  There is no need to take any unnecessary chances and you will be much better off working through whatever depression you have to talk therapy rather than medication therapy.  That said, the decision is really between you and you, and you and your psychologist.

There is no yes or now answer, BUT if you really are depressed, there is definetly good for you to be treated before you become a mother with irregular sleeping and breastfeeding. A baby needs to attach to a mother who is in shape emotionally.
I myself has been on Effexor since 2001 and had a healthy son in 2004. I breastfed him for 4 months.
