Extreme Delusiona - Suicidal

My relative Has an ongoing court case which he is being accused to be involved in some big fraud (which is not true) he got vey delusional that he is getting life in prison and that all his properties is consficated by the IRS he makes suicidal gestures
he is on 500mg of seroquel, xanax and zoloft 50mg the doctor said take him to the hospital but the family keeps him home and watches him 24/7 he keeps asking for his car and does not say what he wants to do he is now very drowsy and sleeps a lot during the day but he is very sad and keeps begging forgiveness from the family he feels very guilty and saya that the whole family is goig to jail because of him. (he says that if we take him to hospital he will make sure not to come out from the hospital.. he fights every time he has to take the medication but he takes it at the end. my question are we allowed to keep him home (with 24/7 superviosin on him)or he will be better off in hospital..

He is probably much better off at the hospital because they will actually reduce his dose so he becomes more coherent and can benefit from talk therapy to straighten out his thinking. He will be better off conscious and around people,than vegetating and being drugged.  Be sure and mention the suicide ideation to the hospital doctor.
