Ginko and St. John's Wort

I've heard that mixing ginko with prescription MAOIs is not recommended, but is this also the case with mixing it with St. John's Wort?

I've also heard that severe negative reactions from MAOIs are rare regardless, so I am curious if anyone has heard of any actual cases in which serotonin syndrome was caused by combining these (and only these) two supplements.

Thanks,
Dawei

I can not answer from direct experience, but I can tell you that you should avoid this kind of experimentation because the gain is not worth the risk.

I took both in 2002 for over 3 years. St johns wort for depression and ginkgo for concentration and had no interaction. It helped me for a while but ended up stopping since it became innefective or just got lazy.

Im still not well at the moment and taking fish oil and st johns wort.

Try and see if it helps you.
