Grave's Disease Pre- and Post-

I am a PA who was Dx with Grave's disaes 2 years ago. I have been doing some research and have not found enough information about the psychological effects brought about by this disease both in the pre-state and post. I have determined by both my own knowledge and that of several doctors who have helped Tx my condition that it was definitely stress induced. My question is what aother psychological symptoms or disorders can be assocoiated with the onset of Grave's and the post recovery phase of Grave's? If there are any sites that has this information that would be greatly helpful also. Thankyou.

Dear Aaron,
Graves' disease is a form of hyperthyroidism that is thought to be an immunologically-mediated or autoimmune disorder. In people who are predisposed, the onset of hyperthyroidism may be associated with stress. Hyperthyroidism and anxiety disorders may also coexist.
Neuropsychiatric manifestations of hyperthyroidism include nervousness, tremors, irritability, agitation, mania, insomnia, fatigue, confusion, impaired cognition, and psychosis, to name a few. With treatment and return to a euthyroid (normal thyroid) state, emotional or psychiatric disturbances resolve.
I hope you find this information helpful. It is provided for educational purposes only, and should not replace consultation with your doctor.
