Grief

How long is it normal to grief....a sudden lose of a family member? My step brother passed away suddenly from a heart attack last Tuesday age 55.

The acute phase of grief usually lasts about 6 weeks, but grief in terms of memories and feeling sad sporadically certainly last a year, and sometimes longer.
