Headaches

I have been sufferring with a headache since March of '99. It was a sudden onset, like someone had just kicked me in the head. It changes in severity - most of the time manageable with motrin but since Dec. '99 has gotten steadily worse. I have occassional attacks that are intolerable and must go to the emergency room. I have been given a CAT scan which was clear. I do not get nauseaus and migraine medications do not work. I recently went to a physical therapist who says that due to a head injury from almost 20 years ago I have a "compressed skull". He worked with my head and neck for a while and did in fact relieve some pain but after 20 minutes I had a severe attack. Do you have any information on a condition like this?
Thank you,
MG

Dear MG

You may want to consult a Neurologist for your headaches. They are qualified to discuss about "compressed skull" with you and give you adequate recommendations.

Sincerely
HFHS-M.D.

I have basically the same problem. I had mono a year and a half ago and since then I have experienced horrible headaches. There is never a time when I don't have one. Some days I can function alright, others I can't get out of bed. This has caused me to put my education on hold and no one will hire me for a job because I'm not able to make it 5 out of 7 days. I have rescently been diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia. Both of these diseases cause major headaches and muscle stiffness and soreness. I have not had a cat scan done yet, my doctor is still looking at options for me since I was just diagnosed with these. I haven't found a medication or treatment that has helped yet. I have been on so many different meds that it is ridiculous. But nothing works. So you're not alone!!!
