How to Tapper Off Effexor if 37.5 is not available

I have been on and off Effexor 75/one dose at night for several years now and I want to stop it.  Unfortunately, we don't have 37.5 in the local market in Egypt.  I started by taking the 75 every other day for one week and now I am in the second week and I am taking it every two days.  Of course I suffer from the withdrawal symptoms but I just want to ask if I am on the right track; especially that I can't reduce the dose to 37.5 because it is not available.

Paxiled has given you some good advice re the  mechanics...think of this as  a three week process, lowering the dose progressively,then going on lowest dose every other day for a week, then every third day for a week before you stop altogether.

You can get a pill cutter if it's not scored; if it is scored, break it in half, then cut it into quarters, etc. so you can taper as slowly as you want.  I also wonder if, if you get a valid prescription, can you order from an internet pharmacy?
