I remember something from my childhood. But, I am not certain whether it's my imagination or real. Help.

For a while we stayed with my aunt. I remember being touched inappropriatly by my, older, cousin. But, I question if it really happened or simply my imagination. To this day I will not talk or visit with him. Is there a way to tell whether this is real or a figment of my imagination?

there is no easy way to make that discrimination.  If you go to a therapist to sort it out you have to choose very carefully a person who is neutral and objective.

Hello. This is something best left to a professional. You may be able to resolve this with conventional psychotherapy or even through hypnosis, although there are mixed opinios on that in the medical community. I had a similar thing happen when I was very young, I witnessed a very disturbed individual go on a shooting spree, and then kill himself. For a long time I didn't know if it really happened. Recently I searched through newspaper articles from around that time and discovered that it did occur. Sometimes the mind will repress traumatic events as some sort of coping mechanism. I would highly recommend seeing a specialist, and hopefully you can find some answers. Best wishes, GM
