Is this borderline personality?

I have a niece who is having some kind of mental disorder. She has had some depression episodes lasting sometimes a few days. She has also had sporadic panic attacks. Nowadays, she has an obsesive thought about something she did at work which is a source of great fellings of embarrasment and shame for her. However, we have checked that, all of those things she assures she has done, in fact never happenned. Even though people tell her, she continues to say that she is sure she did them and she keeps on felling too bad. She is very intelligent, warm and loving but she had to quit her job. She has a strong dificulty concentrating in anything but that thought.
She has seen several doctors but there has not been a concence about her illness. The most recent diagnosticis a borderline personality. We all want to know more to help her. But, berore buying a book, we would like to know your opinion.
