Is this common or rare?

My 42 yr old son was born with Cerebral Palsy and 10 yrs ago was diagnosed with late onset schizophrenia.  The doctors are having a difficult time getting the correct dosage of meds for him. Too much makes him lethargic and not enough he experiences delusions. I am curious---are cerebral palsy and schizophrenia common to have together?
