Is this withdrawal?

Is this withdrawal?

I have been taking medication called hydromorphon after shoulder surgery.  Because I have used methedone for pain control for several years, I need stronger narcotics to help after surgery.  I used the medication as prescribed for about a month, up to 8 mgs a day. But now , a month later, I am not taking it any longer.  Right now I feel like I'm crawling out of my skin.  I am nominally depressed in the winter but I can't get out of bed .  I have no appetite.  COuld this be drug withdrawal?  I have never had any feelings like this before, but I feel like I'm loosing it.

I am not quite sure about the timing, but if you have been off of it for a month, it is very unlikely that it is withdrawal...that almost always occurs during the days following cessation of the medication.

Could this be secondary withdrawal? It happened to me after 2 weeks of not taking an opiate that I was using for fibromyalgia. I felt lousy for 4 or 5 days, then I felt great for about a week and then I lost all of my energy and didn't feel too hungry either. I was told that there are levels of withdrawal, and I was going through something called secondary withdrawal and it could last for 2 months or more. I'm sure everyone is different. I hope all is well for you now ..... Goldie

I am currently doing research for an upcoming book which deals with the side effects and withdrawals people have experienced from Effexor XR and other (like) anti-depressants. I am interested in receiving any information current or former users would like to share concerning their experiences with these drugs. Please email me @:

and thanks!
