Leg Discomfort

Hi, 2 weeks ago I had my first panic attack and eventually was diagnosed with an anxiety/panic problem. Since that first panic attack and start of suffering from anxiety, I have had some discomfort in my left leg (my first thought was uh oh, blood clot), that started in my thigh area, but has kind of migrated around. It's not really painful, but just bothersome and it comes and goes. Is this a normal side effect of anxiety? My doctor (who i just started seeing the other week), just said, that it was related, but never actually looked at it. I also was wondering about the occasional sharp heart pains I have been having since, are they part of the anxiety? My vital signs wrre fine, but these two things bother me and I would like to know if they normal symptom, and something that will clear up once i have my anxiety/panic under control.

Thanks,

Chris

Both of these symptoms are frequently part of an anxiety episode, and should go away, but you still have to exercise good judgement about when to see your doctor if you suspect they point to something else.

Well I went into ER last night and found out my blood is not clotting (test papaer says <110 [<255] ng/ML  D-D) so i wonder what is causeing me leg discomfort. And I forgot to even bring up the occasional heart pain last night.

With a panic disorder, I have found that many symptoms have occurred! Talk it over with your MD. Take care and try to remember you are NOT losing your mind!

Yeah, I know that the mind can have a huge affect on these things.

Leg discomfort, esp. at night was a big problem for me. I read that a potassium deficiency can cause leg cramps, so I eat a banana every day. you could try to take a multivitamin daily too. I never believed in taking any type of vitamins, I always thought as long as I eat right I'll be OK. I feel 100% better with taking a multivitamin esp. for women everyday. It's worth a try.

Little late, but night time leg discomfort is way more common than people think. Mine ranged from twitch/kicking [my wife loved this] to cramps that felt like someone was sticking a knife in my leg. Couple of things that made a huge difference - calcium/magnesium supplement, I use AB Calms powder dissolved in a glass of water, bananas help and there are some over the counter meds that contain quinine
