With out going to the hospital is there a way of lowering lithium levels. Usually my level is around .6 to .7 but recently was sick and level went to 1.82. I was told to stop taking my lithium and are drinking more water but was wondering if not have a bowel movement in several days is not letting my level drop.
Half of the lithium leaves your body every 24 hours, so you may soon be back into the therapeutic range, but if you have any symptoms, you should consult with your treating doctor because some people are more sensitive than others regarding toxicity.
