My Constant Memory Problems

My Constant Memory Problems

Good Afternoon
I am a 32 year old male with constant long and short term memory problems and i cannot remember what i tell people. I cannot think ahead (for example a week from friday is my uncle's birthday, or, i leave for my trips in 2 weeks) or think back in that same way. My mind does NOT race or scan when i am trying to think of something. I have lost my photographic memory like when someone says i can picture her but cannot place her name.. I have also lost landmarks with my photographic memory and names of roads. Other symptoms include:
Constant Brain fog like i am walking in a daze. I have trouble with days of the week and dates. My memory used to be perfect
Concentration problem
i dont feel real and attached.
My whole body feels empty
My Brain feels empty
Have had all the work ups, EEG, 2 CT scans,MRI w/Contrast,2 Lyme Tests, STD Tests, EKG,everything all blood work fine. Been to 4 Psycs.. This all came on very suddenly at the end of last year.
Can Anxiety do all this to your brain/mind?
Can depression do this??

Thanks very much
Jim

Yes, anxiety can do this, but of course you are describing an extreme case. You can think of what you described almost as your unconscious mind being so preoccupied there is nothing left over for the conscious experience of living and being aware and connected to your body.  You have been to psych's, but are these psychiatrists, and have they tried talk therapy with you and or medications as  a trial to tie down the diagnosis? You should pick one good psychiatrist and start on a trial period of therapy.
