OCD and psychosis

Is there any connection between Obsessive thoughts/ Obsessive compulsive disorder and psychotic ideation/psychotic disorder not otherwise specified? Thanks.

In terms of diagnostic nomenclature, there is no real connection, but in terms of the underlying phenomenon, obsessive compulsive mechanism are a strong attempt to keep unconscious material from reaching consciousness, so there is a potential relationship.
