Paxil and Sex dysfunction

I was wondering how long after you quit Paxil does your sex drive come back and able to have an orgasm again?

I know it probably depends on the person, but just some kind of idea would help, I have been on Paxil for a couple months, and I cant even stay erect because of the numbness.

Dear Tony,

Paxil (Paroxetine) may take two to four weeks to clear your system depending on dosage. Sexual side effects should resolve by that time, or earlier.  If problems continue see your doctor.

When I took Paxil, my ability to achieve orgasm was gone until I quit the drug.  I took it about 4 months, and decided that the side effects were too annoying.  Like I said to another question on this board, I haven't found an anitdepressant that does not interfere with some aspect of sexual function, and I have tried many of the medications.  My current one, Serzone causes me to be unable to achieve a full erect penis, which can be somwhat annoying for me and my wife.
It sucks either way, you have to manage your depression, but you still would like sex.

Hi Tony -

I'll email you more detail later - but just wanted to mention that I'm still not having the sexual side effects usually caused by Paxil.  In fact, I feel more like being intimate than I have felt in months.  Are the side effects more prevalant for men??  Although... I'm sick to my stomach pretty much all of the time.
