Prozac vs. Paxil

I have been on 20 mg./day of Prozac for the last two years for my depression.  It worked great after the first month.  Now all of a sudden in the last month, it has become completely ineffective and I feel really down again.  Should I switch to a different medication like Paxil?  That works the same way right?  I dont have any anxiety.  Or would you suggest another antidepressant or should I try increasing the dosage of prozac?

You would better off increasing the dose than switching at this point, but still better off if you considered the depression as a sign of something that is bothering you, and dealt with that directly.

I think you should under the care of a doctor try increasing the dose of your prozac since it seemed to work for you.  The dose you are on if i remember correctly from when i took it is a minimum dose.  Good luck!

My experience has been that Wellbutrin makes a good addition to Prozac.  Paxil made me really, really tired.  But that is just me,ymmv...
