Pscychgentic Movement Disorders

My Mother has been suffering from Anixiety and now more so depression over the last 8 -10 years.  It started off with light headedness and than has slowly made her less social and now at the age of 73, she is falling down a lot.  She has been dr shopping looking for something big and has half heartly accepted that it is due to anxiety.  She has been to plenty of Nuerologist but recently my dear friend's husband who is a specialist in movement disorders evaluated her and has ruled out any organic causes for her unsteadiness and falls. He specializes in Toronto and understands the effects of anxiety & depression.  How do I go about finding her treatment for anxiety induced movement disorders?  I've tried searching the web but is there any site that may assist me to find her help in either Indiana (midwest really) or Florida.  I understand this is a specialized psychological area, but I am very reassured by my friend that this is just years of learned behavior.  I also believe that the transition of empty nester feelings and my Dad's retirement has greatly contributed to my mom's condition.  She is currently seeing a therapist and a separately a neuroligst/psychiatrist.  I just don't think we've found the right person yet.  Any advice on how to find treatment or any self help would be appreciated.  Chris

I don't know of any specialists for this, but you might try the therapist directory at www.psychologytoday.com.  They also have a list of conditions that might give you more information. A therapist is the best bet, especially one who does talk therapy with older people. Also, a trial of anxiolytic medications is in order.
