Psychological Trauma

I need information about Psychological trauma, not only related to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. I would like to know about information on line about psychological consequences of traumatic events. I am a Venezuelan Clinical Psychologist, and I am going with a research about this topics in my country. Thanks in advance.

Dear Jakkan;
Unfortunately, I am not very clear about what you mean when you say "psychocolgical trauma not only related to PTSD" and therefore it is difficult to give you information about this topic.  Psychological trauma has been mentioned as a possible cause or stimulus for Dissociative Disorder.  Both Freud and Janet at one time emphaasixed the importance of traumatic events and the resultant painful memory as a central factor in the formation of symptoms.  Freud however shifted his attention to painful memories of actual traumatic events to the existence of painful, developmentally derived inner sexual and hostile drives and fantasies as the source of psychological conflict.  I wish you luck in your research and maybe you will be able to shed more information on this topic.
