First off i want to thank you all for being there and helping. I have been posting here quite regularly and it has helped me wuite a bit. I am n theropy and on meds right now Ativan and Zoloft.
I have a thing about pain...I get a chest pain wich sets me off worrying wich sets me of in a panic. I have been to the Dr .i have been to the Er....EKG's are all normal had a Echocardiogram..all they found was a Minimal Mitral Valve Regurgitation wich they said not to worry about.
My theropist keeps telling me it is stress that caoses the pain wich causes the panic...and she says that until i can accept that answer i will not recover. I cant help it , when i get a chest pain i have that " what if " nagging that goes on and on. Is this normal? Should i accept or try to accept her oppinion? Its very hard for me.

It does sound anxiety related. I've read a lot about anxiety since I suffer from it myself. I definitely understand the whole "what if" I think I go through that every day. I've read that it helps to start saying "so what" instead of what if. Sometimes that helps me sometimes it doesn't. It's awful how physical symptoms which are benign can start off intolerable panic. I can usually control it so that I don't have a full blown attack, but I can still be wretchedly uncomfortable for hours on end...because I won't take any meds which would probably help. Sometimes with anxiety and panic I think it's hard to accept someone saying "you have to accept it's anxiety" because you're so keyed up all the time. It's hard to evaluate it from a neutral stand point and there is that fear "what if they're wrong?!?!?!?!" But that is all part of the insidious anxiety. Somehow letting go (if possible) and accepting probably would be helpful (I just don't know how to do that)Somewhere someone posted a good site on anxiety...Mandy I think her name was.Good luck!
