Reboxetine(Vestra)

Reboxetine(Vestra) should be approved sometime next month in the US .  It has been available in Europe for a year or two. I have tried so many treatments that have failed , you would think i would be out of opptomism. But some how i am hopefull that Reboxetine( Vestra) will work for me. Time will tell. I know my depression is actually an endocrine disorder. It looks like it will be many years for researchers to pull their heads out and discover the endocrine causes for many of our depressions. So we are left to keep trying AD's an hopeing for the best. Good luck. Ma sa gott, hej san.

Dear William,
It is true that depression may be caused by endocrine disorders. Among potential causes are adrenal disorders(Cushing's, Addison's diseases), Hyperaldosteronism, Parathyroid (Hyper-, Hypo-), Thyroid (Hyper-, Hypo-). To delineate an endocrine disorder-causing depression from other forms of depression, doctors can order tests that may indicate which endocrine organ is dysfunctioning.
Because Reboxetine is not approved as of this writing I am unable to speak of my own experience regarding its efficacy. However, preliminary trials in published literatures had shown that reboxetine is effective in both the short- and long-term treatment of depression, and is at least as efficacious as traditional tricyclic antidepressant drugs and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors.
