Remoron

Remoron

I have been on this depression medication for several months and was feeling good.  I lost my job and after 5 months of looking and rejecting I am really down on myself and the world.  I also take trilafon, cogentin, and dalmane and up to know everything was okay.  I understand Remoron is a fairly new medication.  What woud you sujest to get my mood elevated.

Dear Carolyn,

Remeron ( Mirtazapine)  is a relatively new antidepressant which is shown  to be  shown to be safe and effective in the treatment of depression. I am not clear on how much dosage you have been taking. Since you found relief  with the medication in the past, it would be helpful to increase the dosage. It would also be helpful to talk  to a therapist on a regular basis regarding your feelings. I would recommend that you consult your psychiatrist for further recommendations.

Sincerely
HFHS-M.D.

I have been taking REMORON for about a week, primarily because I have not been sleeping well.  Many people derive a sedative effect from this antidepressant, which is the main reason I am taking it. I DO NOT WANT TO GET HOOKED on bennies, such as ATIVAN to help me sleep.  HOW MUCH REMORON should I take to get that wonderful sleepy/drowsy/drugged sensation that is so conducive to falling asleep? I am currently taking 15 mg, but that does not seem to be enough. Is it true that when you INCREASE the dosage you produce jumpiness, anxiety--the opposite of sedation? I ADORE SLEEPING SOUNDING, and have been unable to do so.
