Switched from Effexor XR to Venlafaxine

Switched from Effexor XR to Venlafaxine

I had to switch from Effexor XR to the generic, Venlafaxine, because my insurance wouldn't cover it. However, I haven't talked to a doctor about the switch (the pharmacy just did it).
I was on 215mg Effexor. Took three 75mg capsules in the morning. I know I can't do this with venlafaxine since it's not extended release. I've done a little research and I'm pretty sure the half-life of XR is about 12 hours. Then the half-life of venlafaxine is probably 6hrs.

Anyways, I'm not taking it like it says on the bottle (take one 3 time daily) because that would just keep me at 70-150mg.  I've been taking two every six hours. Is this too much? Does anyone know what mg thst will keep my blood levels at?
Yeah, I know I should see a doctor. Hopefully I'll be able to get the verification required to switch back, but I have an appointment on may 6th with a new doctor.

I am sorry but I cannot answer this question.  This is something that you have to talk to your doctor directly about rather than trying to figure it out yourself with  just pieces of information from people like me
