Switching from Klonopin to Gabitril

My psych doc had recommended that I transistion from Klonopin to Gabitril. When I asked if I could continue to take the Klonopin while waiting for the Gabitril to take effect, he seemed unsure but said yes. My question is this? Is that safe to do over say a weeks time and what would be the best method to make the transition?

My other question is that I having been taking Lexapro at 10 mg for about 8 weeks. While it has helped my mild depression and to some extent my OCD, I believe it raised my anxiety level considerably. What would be the best method to determine if the Lexapro is the culprit of the increased anxiety. Thanks for your response.

I am not sure if you are thinking about taking all three medications.  The lexapro could increase anxiety because has a stimulating effect. I am not sure about why you are switching from Klonopin, because the combination of Lexapro and Klonopin used judiciously, is quite commonly effective.
