Taking zoloft

I have been taking 100mg of zoloft for about 6 weeks now. I have not felt any difference in my moods/behavior. I have battled with depression for a few years now and ended it with a substance abuse problem. this is my first time taking meds for depression and it is not working. Would you suggest a different med or do you think I should just stick with zoloft alittle longer?

You should have an effect by now, you should ask your doctor about increasing the dose, or adding another, or switching.

I am 27y/o and I have been taking Zoloft off and on since high school.  I have never experienced any withdraw symptoms, however the highest dose I have taken regularly was 50mg.  The main complaint I have with Zoloft is sexual disfunction: not only loss of desire, but orgasms take much longer.  

I do have a problem with my ears that may be completely unrelated, but I thought I would throw it out there: my ears stay clogged like I'm on a plane on a daily basis.  I went to a specialist 6 years ago and was told that my ustacian tubes are narrow, and I have acid reflux.  She said the body's natural response to protect my esophogus is to produce more mucus, which is in turn clogging my ears.

hi.i have bipolar,andhad taken zoloft right before the diagnose.thanks to zoloft giving me the suicidal attempts and manic state i am now on the right meds.i had been put on paxil,zoloft,and one other antidepressant before getting diagnosed correctly.check with your doctor.ask himor her to test you for bipolar.trust me it is safer knowing you do not have it than not knowing you do.
