Tracy Body Dimentia(dementia)

My mother has been recently diagnosed with tracy body dimentia (dementia).  What is this disease?  How does it differ from other forms of dementia or alzheimers?  What should we expect and is there treatments available for the symptoms?

       I have never heard of Tracy body dementia.  Maybe you mean Lewy body disease??  Dementia is a disorder characterized by cognitive impairment and memory problems that results in a decline of ones ability to function.  Behavioral aspects such as depression, anxiety, agitation and confusion may be improved with medication and behavior modification.  It is always important to look for an underlying cause that is treatable and may somtimes reverse or stabilize the dementia.  The most common type of dementia is Alzheimers disease which is always progressive.  Please discuss this issue further with your mothers physician to clarify your concerns.
