Treatment resistant schizophrenia

Treatment resistant schizophrenia

My partner is now in a rehab unit for treatment resistant schizophrenia and is on 40mg of olanzepine. However, for the last 15 years he has refused to participate in any necessary tests not even blood pressure. This seems to be to do with a persistent delusion for which psychotherapy and a specialist psychologist has not been able to break through or identify.
He needs to be on clozepine and the resistance to these tests is causing a delay which could mean that he will be in the unit for years rather than months. We are getting desperate. Have you any suggestions for us in terms of therapy, which could hurry up the process. (I doubt he would be amenable to hypnosis). Please Help.

It sounds like you are getting top notch care, but in cases like this there is always the possibility of getting a consultation with a research psychiatrist who is working on these kind of problems...talk to your doctors about that possibility.....
