Trouble Sleeping

For the past two weeks I have had difficulty sleeping.  Every night, just as a drift off and begin to dream, I find myself suddenly awake again.  This happens again and again until I find myself fully awake, stressed out and unable to sleep for the rest of the night.  I've never had any trouble sleeping in the past.  When I go to bed I don't feel particularly stressed about anything and I really want to sleep.  Is this just insomnia or stress or something else?

Insomnia is a condition in which there is  difficulty in initiating or maintaining sleep. It is the most common complaint by people with sleep problems. This problem can be transient or persistent. Insomnia can be secondary to environmental changes, stress, medical conditions (endocrine disease, pain, infections etc.),   or psychiatric conditions.  I would recommend that you get a complete evaluation by a physician if the problem persists. I wish you all the best.
