Webutrin XL to Welbutrin SR

Webutrin XL to Welbutrin SR

Has anybody had side effects from going from Welbutrin XL to generic Welbutrin SR? I had samples from my doctor of Welbutrin XL did great on it no side effects150m..The pill was little and white. When the doc gave me RX for the med it was for SR form of it.Purple round pill..I have terrible headaches, brain zaps, foggy feeling, nausea. Is there a difference with the ingredients?I took samples 3 weeks no problem. Now I can hardly stand the side effects can side effects happen almost a month later or is there something in the generic pill causing this..Pharmacy says no difference..So why do I feel like this now..Anybody know???

there is no difference in the content but there is in the way the drug gets to your system, and that is what may be causing the problem...you may be getting too much at one time...talk to your doctor about going back to the individual pills.

I tried the generic form of Welbutrin and it didn't work for me as well as the namebrand med. All the docs say generic is the same thing as namebrand; but it doesnt react in my body the same way. I requested my doc check the "no substitutions" box on the prescription. Havent had any problems since.

Several years ago I took Welbutrin , the "regular" one. Not sure if it was xl or what but It just released all at once when taken and lasted till the next day. Well, those were samples too and then I was switched to SR. For me, it wasn't the same, it didn't help and I felt worse. The doctor tried to convince me that I was going to feel better on the slower release pills than the faster one and though I tried to explain it to him that the faster ones DID work and not the SR he didn't "get it" SO. unfortunately I stopped taking everything and stopped seeing him as well. I don't think it's your imagination, maybe you are like me and need the faster hit or just not the SR. I really do think there is a differnce for some people. :) Good Luck.

Thanks Again.... :)
