Wellbutrin and ECT

Can ECT be done if a patient is on Wellbutrin?  I understand that Wellbutrin can cause seizures.  Is it therefore better to avoid ECT?  I suffer from refractory major depressive disorder and wondered if adding ECT to the Wellbutrin may just improve the situation.

I can't answer that question definitively, it is outside my immediate professional experience. When you go the doctor who might do the ect, he will know for sure.  It probably will not matter because during the ect you are totally protected from having a spontaneous seizure.

I don't know you, nor am I a doctor...
But I must tell you that based on LOTS of research looking at ECT from all angles, I wouldn't go through with it period, whether on wellbutrin or not.
