Wellbutrin overdose?

Wellbutrin overdose?

Hello,
I was put on Wellbutrin sr about 3 years ago. I was taking one 150mg in the a.m. and one 150mg in the p.m. I was taking it this way for about 3 years. I got fed up because I could not sleep so I was told to take them both in the a.m. I followed the instructions without question. I slept better following this. But, I was experiencing a whole lot of other symptoms, which I thought was because of having Lyme Disease as well as meningitis and bells palsey a few years before. I was being tested constantly with no positive results on anything. I felt that I was going crazy so, I decided that I was just going to have to put up with feeling this way. My mental health was fine and I had energy but, my body hurt, I had numbness and tingling in my back and in my legs. My right shoulder hurt so bad and I started noticing pain and numbness in my arm. I could not lay on my right side for 2 years. I would feel as if someone was talking to me when no one was there and ringing in my ears. The list goes on. I finally went to a Dr. that said that I was not crazy and that he would help me. I had blood work done, everything under the sun was checked and I was scheduled for my 2nd MRI. He asked me what meds I was on and I told him that I was taking 2 150mgs in the a.m. He looked at me and said, "your not supposed to be taking them that way." so, he prescribed me one 300mg pill to take in the a.m. I went on my way and went home. I had to wait until friday to get this prescription filled so, I decided to take my wellbutrin sr, one in the a.m. and one in the p.m. withing 3 days all my body pain was gone. the pain in my shoulder was gone, the numbness and tingling, everything!!!!! I got so excited and just cried. I thought oh my God! I have been overdosing my self on a daily basis for years! I was told to do this, without question I did. I was stupid for not following the patient phamplet. I just was doing what a DR. told me to do.  Anyway, my MRI is normal and I really cannot get a straigt answer from my DRs because I think that they are being careful. I just want a straight answer, does anyone feel that I could have had some damage done to my body, do you feel that my symptoms are considered to be because of a daily overdose? I am relieved to feel better physically but, due to being on this med my life was hell for so long. I am angry and hurt that I was told to do something that could harm me even if they meant no harm. Oh, my dr did say that they could have gotten sr confused with the xl because with xl's you can take both. Any information that you can give me would be great. I need help and straight answers! Do you feel that I could have long term damage? What should I do?
Thanks,
Laura

Laura, I do not believe that you can do long term damage.  You may have a had a couple of lousy years, but no permanent damage.
