Why do I bring up good qualities of my sociopathic ex of 9 years ago and not other exes that treated me kinder to my future fiance?

My fiance wants to know why I bring up my sociopathic ex that did so many bad things and not my other exes ? I compare him like my ex did that and my ex did this etc etc.I can honestly say I am over the sociopath.My fiance wants an answer why the sociopath and not others to him? I love my future fiancee very much.What is the best answer for this? He does not believe me that I am over him.I do not want to lose this man and want to give the best answer.He will not take the answer that I am over him.HELP PLEASE

Sara...I would like to help but I don't know enough about you to help you give a good answer.  The best answer is always the truth. The fact that you are over your ex is part of the truth, but not the whole truth.  Do you compare your fiancee to your ex in order to say how lucky you are, or are you saying to your fiancee that in certain ways you would like him to be like your ex..  Think about it, and tell him what you learn about yourself.
