Xanax withdrawal duration

I stopped taking Approx. 1mg of zanzx in 4 pieces per day for 5 months.  I stopped because I begin to experience facial sensations between doses, and inflamed sinuses along with becoming jittery.  Its been 3 weeks since I stopped cold turkey and I've experienced facial sensations, unsteadiness, sleeplessness ear congestion, and a general feeling of tiredness.  These symtoms can last from an hour to 6 hours, then I may have 2 days or so where I feel normal.  How long should I expect this to last.

So not an infection either if there are normal periods?  I had/ have an infected finger and my symptoms come and go.  Seemed to clear up for a bit then was sore again.  Lack of balance could be an ear problem.  ??

I trust this doctor but ... if it were me I would probably get my ears checked out.  And if they're fine then accept it is due to anxiety.
Are the facial sensations a tingling feeling?  I sometimes get that when I'm anxious and hyperventilate.

given the amount you have been using and the withdrawal that you've described I would guess that your symptoms have nothing to do anymore with the Xanax and have more to do with whatever anxiety you are experiencing. if it were Xanax it would be very unlikely that you would have two normal days.

I don't know but some people suggest going back on at the lowest dose and then doing an appropriate taper which may eliminate these side-effects.

Have you spoken to your doctor about your symptoms?

Nobody's going to be able to tell you that since you're not anyone else and we all react differently, but never go cold turkey off a benzo.  Maybe the doctor can help more.
