Zoloft - side affects

Zoloft - side affects

I started taking zoloft two weeks ago.  25mgs the first week and 50mgs now.  I have missed taking the pill three times in the past two weeks.  I have also been drinking.  I am having terrible headaches, feel speedy, my body is twitching and i feel withdrawn.  will these side affects go away?  i don't know if i can stand it anymore.  it's making it hard for me to work, to concentrate on anything.

Drinking, and Zoloft are a bad combination. It sounds like the symptoms you are having are not related to Zoloft, or missing a few.  It sounds more like the underlying trouble you are trying to get rid of... I suggest you continue on the Zolfot, and see what you can do to stop the drinking.

Hey Jben,

Here's a list of my initial side affects, and the ones still around after 3+ months at 100mg's a day:

Trembling fingertips - still here
Sweaty palms - thank goodnes that has finally disapated
Tension headaches - occasional
Sensitivity to light - rarely now

Thats about it...

I have been on 50mg of zoloft for 1 year now. I feel great and it has really helped with my depression. I think I suffer from the worst side affect.( Sexual ) My sexual desire pretty much no longer exists and it is near impossible to reach orgasm. I am in a woderful relationship and my partner is tolerant. I want to stop taking it so I can once again feel sexually functionable.

I had the same sexual side effect on celexa (and now zoloft). my psychiatrist recommended taking a benadryl about an hour before sexual activity. he said benadryl basically can stop an SSRI from working for just a few hours--so it's like you're not on it at all,but as soon as the benadrl wears off, you're back to your normal medicated self.  i tried it skeptically and found that it worked. i don't know that it works for everyone, but it's worth a try.  he said it wasn't harmful, but would make me sleepy cuz it's an anihistamine. hope that helps.
