anxiety and chest pains

I have had problems with anxiety for the last couple of years and have taken antidepressants for it.  I have been off Lexapro for about six months and feeling pretty good.  However, for the last two months I have been having bad chest pains like gas in that area.  My doctor has given me some things to aid in digestion but it hasn't helped.  Could this be a symptom of anxiety?  Would going back on Lexapro help.

The chest pains come and go but when I have them they can last for a day or two and it is frightening.  Sometimes it is just pressure in the chest like gas but sometimes the pain can really hurt.  The last two times it has happend it has been painful.

I have a followup with my GP in a couple of days and I am unsure of what to tell him.  And yes, all of these physical symptoms are now making me anxious.  Advice?

I don't know your age or general health, but you must have a workup to make sure these are not cardiac pains and not just assume they are gas. This is not a typical sign of anxiety as a solitary symptom, and certainly the fear of something really wrong can make you anxious.

Hi.  I am a 37 year old female in good health besides having pvc's.  My doctor ran and EKG which was normal.  He is going to check my cholestrol.  Is there other tests that should be run to rule out cardiac problem as he seems very unconcerned.
