DEPRESSION/MENTAL HEALTH EXPERT FORUM

anxious md

I am a medical resident with a history of anxiety/depression.
Several months ago I stopped taking my prozac because
I began feeling better.  Now after a series of worrisome
events I feel as though I have hit rock-bottom,
to the point where I have difficulty working and can
not carry out my daily activities well.
I am terrified of falling apart and destroying my career.
I am actively trying
to bring myself back to baseline, with extreme difficulty.  Do
you know of any support groups for people in my situation or have
any other advice?

I suggest you see about getting some counseling support through the mental health department at your medical center.  Most residency programs make that available free of charge.

If you want to get some help online, go to my masteringstress.com program and I will try to help you sort through what is happening.

You might also go back to a very reduced dose of Prozac for a limited time period.
